Huka Falls

Behold, New Zealand’s most-visited natural attraction: Huka Falls, located on the Waikato River which drains into Lake Taupo. Of all the waterfalls in New Zealand, what makes these rapids so special is the narrowing of the river — normally 100 meters wide — to a 20-meter-wide gorge with a 20-meter drop. In result, 220,000 liters of water rush through the gorge every second and shoot out eight meters ahead into a blue-green pool.
